Cleveland Kids In Need is a program of Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K), that helps to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies to teachers of the students who are most in need.
It is SC4K’s firm belief that no child’s academic achievement should be disrupted simply because they don’t have the proper tools. Cleveland Kids In Need and SC4K bridges the gap between great need and available resources to provide school supplies to teachers and their students. Each year, the program receives more than $1 million worth of nationally- and locally-donated supplies for distribution. We accept these product donations and use the financial donations to purchase brand new school supplies, and then redistribute them to those who need it most. The supplies are stored at the Cleveland Kids In Need Resource Center’s 15,000 square foot facility in the
heart of Cleveland where eligible teachers can come to shop for school supplies free of charge once a semester. These donations come from major companies including
Faber-Castell USA.
The Faber-Castell USA team has been thrilled to provide over $40,000 of arts and craft supplies in the past two years to Cleveland Kids In Need for enriching the lives of kids through creativity and self-expression. Through events like “Stuff the Bus” hosted by Cleveland Kids In Need and local news station Chanel 8, and volunteering during “Teacher Shop Days” at the Cleveland Kids In Need resource center, we’ve been able to meet the wonderful teachers who use these supplies with their students.
