Lothar von Faber (1817-1896) fourth generation, took over management of the company as the oldest of five siblings after the death of his father, George Leonhard, in 1839. However, he saw to it that his two brothers Johann and Eberhard were also involved in the management of the company. Eberhard managed the subsidiary in New York - later, he became independent under his own name.
The most commonly asked question about Eberhard Faber product is for the Eberhard Faber Blackwing 602.
For Fans of the Genuine Blackwing 602, in the "Blackwing Pages", bassist/pencil blogger Sean Malone has impressively traced the history of the legendary Eberhard Faber Blackwing 602.
Sean Malone is an American musician and a well-known one at that; fans of experimental metal will recognize him from his times as the bassist of Cynic. The artist is actually a professor of music.
In December of 2012, Sean visited Faber-Castell in Stein Germany, but not to give a concert in the castle: Sean writes a professional blog about his two favorite pencil stars, one being the Eberhard Faber Blackwing 602, produced in the U.S. until 1998. The pencil was especially popular among musicians, writers and artists.
Thank you Sean.
